8 TV Series You Should Look Out For In 2017

Movie stars are coming to the smaller screens in 2017, but we can’t complain because everything revolving TV shows this year look amazing! Comics, books, movies, real life situations are all being brought to life as TV adaptations and we’re here for each and every single one of them! As a TV fanatic, I’m always on the look out for new TV shows that look gripping, hilarious and just down right addictive so as I’ve done my research, I thought I would share with all of you other TV fanatics or people just genuinely needing a new show to watch, my top pick of shows that you should be on the look out for in 2017!

Riverdale is an American teen drama based on the Archie Comics. Will Archie choose Betty or Veronica? This brand new adaptation is Gossip Girl meets Pretty Liars, a slice of murder with dashes of secrets. Who killed Jason Blossom? Explore the dark underbelly of a small town called Riverdale.

Riverdale aired January 26th, 2017.

Big Little Lies (Mini Series)

If you loved the Pretty Little Liar mom’s, you’re going to adore these three fabulous ladies! Big Little Lies is an American dark comedy-drama miniseries based on the book also with the same name, consisting of seven episodes, starring Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley and Nicole Kidman. Whilst this show might seem bubbly and fun on the surface, the entire miniseries is driven by a murder. Nobody knows the identity of the killer or the actual killer, all we know is that it leads back to an incident on the first day of first grade where two mothers start a war after a conflict between two students.

Big Little Lies aired February 19th, 2017.

Girl Boss

Girl Boss is an upcoming Netflix series based on the creator of NastyGal, Sophia Amoruso autobiography, played by Britt Robertson.

Girl Boss premieres April 21st, 2017.

Powerless -Season 1

Powerless is the first American action comedy series within the DC Universe. Powerless follows Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) as Director of Research & Development at Wayne Security. Emily and her team specialise in products for ordinary humans who may find themselves in the rubble of battles between superheroes and supervillains, giving them ways to protect themselves. This series is like no other superhero series, as the focus is 100% on the public.

Powerless aired February 2nd, 2017.

Making History

Making History is an upcoming American comedy series, which follows a professor who creates a device allowing him and his colleague to time travel and change the course of events in the past, in order to improve their current life. If you’re a heavy Gossip Girl fan just as I am, you’ll be happy to know Queen B, Leighton Meester has a reoccurring role in the new comedy as the professor’s girlfriend.

Making History premieres March 5th, 2017.

If anybody is on a roll with bringing out TV shows left, right and centre, it is definitely Ryan Murphy. Ryan already owns 4 shows which consist of Glee, American Horror Story, American Crime Story and Scream Queens, however it seems that the creative juices are still flowing as he is blessing us all with the brand new upcoming American anthology TV series, Feud. The first 8 episode season will centre around Bette Miller (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange), giving us a more in depth look on the backstage battle between the pair during the production of their 1962 film, What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? Not only is Jessica Lange making her first appearance on a Ryan Murphy show after leaving AHS two years ago, AHS regulars Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates will also be making reoccurring appearances.

Feud premieres March 5th, 2017.

Snatch is an upcoming comedy-crime British/American TV series, based on the film with the same name, where a group of up and coming hustlers stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold are thrust in to the high stakes world of organised crime. Harry Potter fans will be pleased to know Rupert Grint is part of the cast, and Gossip Girl fans will be thrilled to know the one and only Ed Westwick will be the show’s villain. Amongst those two incredibly perfect actors, British actors Lucian Laviscount and Luke Pasqualino will also be joining the cast!

Snatch premieres March 16th, 2017.

13 Reasons Why

13 Reasons Why is an upcoming original American TV series, based on the 2007 novel with the same name. The show will follow Clay Jensen, in his quest to uncover the story behind his crush and classmate, Hannah, and her decision to end her life. While Selena Gomez was cast to play the role of Hannah back in 2011 as a film, it was later announced last year that it would be turned into a television adaptation of the book, where Selena will be serving as an executive producer, alongside her mother, Mandy Teefey.

13 Reasons Why premieres March 31st, 2017.
