Almost a year has passed since Clara returned to the big smoke and she couldn’t be happier to be back in her city. With the perfect husband, her best friends for neighbours, and a beautiful baby boy, Clara feels like every aspect of her life has finally fallen in to place. It’s not just Clara who things are going well for. The Strokers have made the move back from the land down under and Lianna is on cloud nine – literally. Not only has she been jetting across the globe with her interior design firm, Periwinkle, she has also met the man of her dreams… again. For the past twelve months Li has been having a long distance relationship with Vernon Clarke, a handsome man she met a year earlier on the beautiful island of Barbados. After spending just seven short days together, Lianna decided that Vernon was the man for her and they have been Skype smooching ever since. Due to Li’s disastrous dating history, it’s fair to say that Clara is more than a little dubious about Vernon being ‘The One’. So, when her neighbours invite Clara to their villa in the Caribbean, she can’t resist the chance of checking out the mysterious Vernon for herself. Has Lianna finally found true love? Will Vernon turn out to be a knight in shining armour or just another fool in tin foil?
Another tropical trip is in the cards for Clara as the gang hit the luscious islands of Barbados. If you weren’t in the mood for a holiday before picking up this book, then you definitely will be in the mood now!
It was lovely to have a book focusing on Lianna’s life now as everything has finally fallen in to place for her. Of course, Clara has her suspicions about Vernon and I really relate to Clara in the way that my best friend also isn’t the best when it comes to picking guys and I spend more time thinking they aren’t good enough for her than really giving them the chance to prove themselves worthy of my best friends time. But when Clara was introduced to Vernon, she and everybody else absolutely adored the man and knew it was meant to be.
This book had little drama making it a very light-hearted and pleasant read. We got to see the adults and children just having a good time on the sunny island, spending time away from work, partying, cocktails in hand, wedding bells start the ring in the air and we basically just get to witness Clara’s life become even more perfect than it already is!
This is the second book where Eve and Owen become a large part of the gang, seeing Eve be so independent and only mother her dogs, it was nice to see her become rather broody whilst babysitting the children as Eve and Owen are such a wonderful couple.
Again, I love Lacey’s writing style as she truly represents real life and I’m always finding myself giggling away at certain parts of her books. Lacey describes her books with such depth and you start beginning to believe you’re actually in the book with Clara! Feeling like I’m actually part of the book is so important as I know that I’m loving every second of it. I can only hope my life turns out something like Clara’s!
